My favourite book

My
favourite book

Basic Points:
I. Books & choice. (Para 1 &2)]
II. My fav. Book and its Miracle (Para 3, 4 ).
III. Code of Life (Para 5,6)
IV. Science & Quran ( Para 7)
V. Conclusion (Para 8 )

Books are the legacies that some great genius leaves to the mankind, which are delivered from
generation to generation as presents (gifts) to the posterity (all future generations). They are the food for thought. They are the quietest and the most constant of all friends and the most patient of all teachers. They are like movies in one’s mind, only with better special effects. A single book at the right time can change our views dramatically, give a quantum boost to our knowledge and help us to construct a whole new outlook on the entire world and our life. It is rightly said that:

Some books are to be tasted. Others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested.”
-Francis Bacon

The main objective of reading is to broaden our vision, extend the frontiers of our knowledge, and sharpen our imagination. But the choice of the book one reads must be done wisely. A good book is the precious lifeline of a master’s spirit while a bad book is often more dangerous than the venom of serpent. Not all books are worth reading, it takes a great mental caliber to make the selection of those books, which are interesting and enlightening.

Choose a book as you choose a friend.”
-Sir Christopher Wren

 I have read several books. Though I like most of them but my favourite book is the Holy Quran. It is the last script of the Creator of the universe. It has thirty-parts.  It was revealed on the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W) about fourteen centuries ago. It is an eternal or It is the most sacred, effective and widely read book in the whole world. Its literal meaning is “reading, lecture, recitation or that which should be read.” It is the type of book about which it can be said that;

A real book is not one that we read, but one that reads us.”
                                                                                                                                                                         -W.H. Auden

The Holy Quran is undoubtedly the greatest miracle of Allah Almighty which He bestowed upon his beloved prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be upon him). It is written in Arabic. Its language is very eloquent, impressive and encouraging. Allah gave challenge to the expert linguists of that time to write even an Ayah like that of Quran. They failed for it is the word of the best of all the writers. Centuries have passed but it is still in its original form. No change of a single word or sentence has been made in it . It is because Allah Himself has promised to guard his book:

“We have without doubt, sent down the message (Quran) and We will surely guard it.”
 - [Al-Quran]

It is complete code of life and good conduct. It has guidance for the people of all times. The commands and prohibitions imparted to us through the Holy Quran that enable us to live a successful life. We can get guidance from it in all the spheres of life. Its injunctions broaden our minds inspire us to observe, understand and conquer the forces of nature. It is the only book which has been translated into almost all the important languages of the world and a number of profound scholars have written commentaries and explanation of this book. It is rightly said

“The newest books are those that never get old.”
   -Holbrook Jackson

The intellectual and moral basis of the way of life as ordained by Islam is fully enunciated (clearly expressed) in the glorious Quran. It elaborates moral principles, philosophy and also describes social, economic and civil-laws. It gives us the golden rules of universal equality, brotherhood, peaceful co-existence, better treatment to women, devotion to duty and all hood norms and values cherished and loved by humanity through ages. Discussion on belief and worship is also an integral part of the book. It gives us a lesson how we can attain permanent bliss after death. It also warns man that disobedience of Allah or His Prophet (P.B.U.H) would render him to a perpetual punishment in the raging fires of hell.

“Whosoever will follow My guidance, they shall have no fear and they shall have no gloom.” – [Al-Quran]

The facts that the scientists are discovering today, have been mentioned in the Holy Quran over
fourteen hundred years before. It gives clue about creation of life: We made every living thing from water. Will the not believe?” (Quran 21:30).  The information about shape of earth, atoms, wormholes , the relativity of time , black holes, the formation of petroleum and much more. Similarly about the Big Bang theory according to which the universe in the beginning was concerted concerted (combined) in singularity with infinite density and the origin of universe, the Holy Quran states:

Don’t the unbelievers see that the heavenly bodies and the earth were joined together a
s one unit of creation before we take them asunder. (apart/in parts)”        - [Al-Quran]

To sum up, the mission of this book is to uproot all the social evils and create a peaceful and healthy environment for mankind during its sojourn (short stay) in this world. Along with this, it provokes man to search for sheer truth and bare realities of the universal and natural systems. After presenting the wondrous (amazing) facts about nature, which science is discovering these days, Allah commands the mankind only to worship Him and to come into His obedience. It is the only key to success in this life and life hereafter.  It has been proved by the sands of time , as long as the  Muslims followed the teaching of the Holy Quran, they held the torch of glory; as soon as the message was neglected by them, the light of their glory was vanquished( dominated) by the darkness of their hearts and nothing was left of them; but ash and dust.
